Levine JDJESJR 1992Lee. I.A. Levine, "Judaism from the Destruction of Jerusalem to the End of the Second Jewish Revolt: 70-135 C.E." in Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism: A Parallel History of Their Origins and Early Development (Hershel Shanks ed., Washington D.C.: Biblical Archaeology Society, 1992) 125-150. (see also ShanksCJR1992).
In this article Levine does a remarkable job at informing the reader of the historical time between the destruction of the Temple to Second Jewish War. He discusses the reaction of Rome and literature written of the great despair of the Jews during this time including different rabbis. He then goes on to speak of Jewish nationalism and how tradtions are still observed today even without a Temple. He ends by discussing the Bar Kockba Revolt, its causes, aims and aftermath.
