Gorfinkle PA 1916

Gorfinkle, Joseph I. Pirke Abot: The Sayings of the Jewish Fathers. Translated with an Introduction and Notes. (2nd ed.; New York: Bloch Publication Co., 1916).
The Pirke Avot, (variations of the English spelling include Pirkey, Pirkei, and Abot) is also known simply as the "Avot" or "Fathers," and is today sometimes referred to as the "ethics of the fathers," or "sayings of the fathers." It is a tractate? of the Mishnah, where it is placed in the order called Nezikin?, but the book was sometimes published independently.
Gorfinkle's popular translation, commentary, and notes to the Pirke Avot went through six editions between 1916 and 1949. The second edition is in the public domain and is available on the web for your reading pleasure.
