Eucharist

The Eucharist is another name for the Lord's Supper or Communion. The word Eucharist is Greek meaning thanksgiving.

It is a tradition meal taken in honor of Jesus' last supper with his disciples the night before his crucifixion (Mat. 26, Mark 14, Luke 22). The Eucharist includes taking of the wine which is to represent Jesus' blood and the bread which stands for his body. For Christians this meal is a way of remembering the sacrifice Jesus made for their sins.
