Update

As of mid-terms, we are still working out the kinks in our authorship. Not all the style standards are fully clear. I have just created a new Wiki-group for Prodigal Sisters, called Style, in order to create a clearinghouse for information about style standards on the Wiki.

Our work thus far

We began by reading J.Z. Smith's "Fences and Neighbors", and then slowly read Alan Segal's Rebecca's Children. In between, we were blessed with having Walter Ziffer serve as a guest teacher. Ziffer is an adjunct professor at MHC and a Biblical scholar whose work is of interest to our project; see (Ziffer JTM 1966) and (Ziffer BCMJ 2006). Then we began to read and discuss the Epistle of Barnabas. Along the way we have also read and discussed some articles concerning Wiki technology and scholarship (for links to these see Prodigal Sisters Philosophy principle #3 -- Thanks Cassandra!).

Tasks for administrator:

  1. Install the "Kind of Blog" Cookbook package! (I will do this soon, Cassandra).

Tasks for authors:

  1. Refine your author profile pages.
  2. Update, add to and clarify the Prodigal Sisters Style Guide.
  3. Contribute to the statement of philosophy for the site.
  4. Add cross links between existing or potential Topic Areas, annotated bibliographies and other pages on the site.
  5. Correct types, spelling errors, or problems found anywhere on the site.
  6. Add a new item to the bibliography and create a new annotated bibliography page linked to it. There is one new AB due per author per week.
  7. Create a new topic page by adding a link to the list of topics related to our subject, and begin to edit if (if you choose).
  8. Expand upon any topic by adding data or information related them to a primary or secondary source already found in the Bibliography.
  9. Expand upon, condense, or revise any annotated bibliography entry.
  10. Add a new link to the main list of timelines creating a sub-timeline page, and then begin to edit it.
  11. Add cross-references between sub-timeline pages and the list of topics.
  12. Read more about editing the Wiki and practice by just experiment with editing, linking, etc., using the Wiki Sandbox.
  13. Look at the Recent Changes list and then read your fellow authors' work, looking for errors to fix, or for ideas for your own further work.
