Attridge begins this article by saying that between 70 and 312 C.E. two significant events changed the world. The first was the destruction of the Temple in 70 C.E. and the second is when Constantine conquered Rome and adopted Christianity as the new religion. Attridge uses this article is discuss the development of this new religion and its many aspects including its writings, orthodoxy, and the many issues of controversy it caused. He uses writings from many different theologians and believers such as Origen, Eusebius, and Clement of Alexandria to discuss the history of Christianty as well.
